The EB-2000/342 is a high-speed ALL-FET Class-A power amplifier driver with exceptional resolution, and dynamics. Its transparent and neutral sound makes it equally applicable in high-end home systems as in studio monitor and recording applications. Within its power rating, the EB-2000/342 outperforms most high-end power amplifiers on the market in terms of sonic quality, irrespective of price.

The “MILLENNIUM” is a high-voltage version of the “RIBBON” driver. Only FETs (JFETs and MOSFETs) are used as active elements in the amplifier. The input stage is using dual low-noise monolitic JFETs, which are operated at 2mA. These are Cascoded with MOSFETs for operation with higher supply voltage. The second stage consists of two paralleled JFETs, each conducting 10mA. These are Cascoded with MOSFETs for linearity and reduced internal capacitance. The resistors are all high quality Caddocks and Vishay/Dale. The driver board can be operated with unbalanced input (input impedance: 100k) and with balanced input (both inputs: 2.2k).

The driver circuit is fed from high-voltage, discrete ALL-FET, wide-band, low-noise regulators (not shown) These are also using dual low-noise JFETs, Cascoded with MOSFETs for the input, and MOSFETs in the driver and output stage. The electrolytics are ELNA CERAFINE.

The “MILLENNIUM” driver can operate with a regulated voltage of up to ±50V. The maximum input voltage for the regulators is ±55V. With 8 pairs of Hitachi MOSFETs the “MILLENNIUM” can produce 75W of pure Class-A into 8 Ohm. With appropriate output stage and power supply the driver is capable of delivering 100W into 8 Ohm and 200W into 4 Ohm in Class-AB. Minimum heatsink requirement is SK157/200 or SK158/200, with a thermal resistance of 0.2K/W.
